A Bolivian convict José Luis Callisaya Diaz (alias El Araña) was on Wednesday rearrested by prison wardens when attempting to escape from prison in Chonchocoro Maximum Prison.

 

Diaz alias EL Araña (spider) had been jailed for 15 years over murder allegations but while serving his sentence, he attempted to use the cold situation by putting on his sheepskin jacket and crawl on fours in an attempt to escape via prison’s external parameter wall.

While on his mission to escape, the police guards on duty noticed his absentia in the cell and started a night manhunt.

 

Diaz was then found crawling on the grasses like a sheep covered himself with his sheepskin like jacket around his shoulder in an attempt to escape via the prison’s parameter wall.

 

Confirming Diaz’s rearrest, Chonchocoro Prison Director Juan Carlos Limpias said Diaz had taken advantage of the cold night and used his sheepskin jacket in an attempt to escape from prison.

We inform the Bolivian population that prison security police officers from the San Pedro de Chonchocoro Penitentiary Center prevented the escape of prisoner José Luis Callisaya Diaz (alias El Araña), who took advantage of the inclement weather to try to flee through one of the walls of the external perimeter of the prison,” the Director of the Penitentiary Regime Juan Carlos Limpias said.

 

José Luis Callisaya Diaz following the attempt to escape from Chonchocoro, a maximum security prison by wrapping himself in sheepskin and crawling through the grassland surrounding the jail, the prison Director has added that the convict we further arraigned to court and charges meted on him.
