TikTok To Pay More To Creators With Popular Videos.
Amidst concerns by TikTokers on compensation for videos watched many times, TikTok is working on a better way of paying creators with popular and viral videos.
Currently, according to Hootsuite, TikTokers earn between 2 and 4 cents for every 1,000 views after reaching a million views. This translates to about Ksh.2,500 to Ksh.5,000 ($20 to $40).
The new Creator fund 2.0, a $1 billion pool of money three year fund, will pay creators with more than 100,000 followers in a bid to encourage them to stay the platform.
With it starting as early as March this year, TikTok plans to pay more to creators by raising the minimum requirements for eligibility to participate in the fund to 100,000 followers and giving payouts to users who make longer videos.
Additionally, TikTok fans may have to pay $1 in order to watch videos.
According to The Information, An American technology outlet, the platform is looking forward to have a higher audience in the US with new initiatives, among them subscriptions of about Ksh. 125 ($1) or any another fee chosen by the creator.
