Facebook parent partner, Meta, has reinstated Instagram and Facebook accounts of former US president, Donald Trump.

 

The accounts were suspended two years ago after Trump causing political mayhem on social media, in line with incitement.

 

On Wednesday, Meta said on its blog that it has reinstated Trump’s Instagram and Facebook accounts under stringent rules and regulations.

 

In a situation Trump violates the new rules, he’ll again be suspended on his two social media accounts.

 

Under new regulations, his posts and content will be monitored by Meta and if violates the guidelines, he’ll be suspended for a period between one month to two years depending on the offense.

 

After suspension, Trump founded Truth Social, a social media platform which he has been using for communication and posting his content.

 

Twitter recently reinstated the former US President’s account. However, the prolific politician has so far not yet updated anything.

 

The Twitter account was suspended days after the deadly 2021 insurrection but in the ownership of Elon Musk, Trump’s Twitter account got reinstated.

 

“In the event that Mr Trump posts further violating content, the content will be removed and he will be suspended for between one month and two years, depending on the severity of the violation,” Meta said.

 

Meta, a Menlo Park based- California, further said, they are trying to bring balance between people and its services, to keep the social media platforms safe to its clients.

 

Donald Trump on his side, has responded to Meta saying that, such a suspension should never happen to a sitting president.

 

“Such a thing should never again happen to a sitting president, or anybody else who is not deserving of retribution!” Mr Trump responded.
