Sheryl Gabriella Reveals Exposure Saved Her from Village Relationships

Sheryl Gabriella, a digital content creator has shared that exposure saved her from getting married in the village.
In her TikTok live, she stated that if she were in her village, she could have married a bodaboda as either a first wife or second wife.
Sheryl added that what saved her was the exposure that she earned after she left Sotik village for Nairobi. In her statement, most young women got married early because of a lack of exposure.

She also shared that the village’s young man she could have married to could been a bully and she could have been facing domestic violence daily.
“Watu kama sisi wenye tulilelewa ushago, if we had remained there, we would be suffering by now. Probably I would be having 10 children and married. I thank God for exposure. Mungu uliniokoa jamani.
“Ningekuwa Sotik nimeolewa na kijana fulani anaendesha pikipiki. Ananichapa kila usiku. Ananichapa akisema ni nani hampigi mke wake. I thank God for exposure guys.” Sherly shared as she thanked God for her exposure.” Sheryl stated.

The Digital content creator explained that exposure has helped many people from her village in Sotik to escape early and unplanned marriages.
She sampled out her friend based in the US that if she could have failed to leave their village early, she could also have been married to a village bodaboda man with over five children.
Netizens especially women echoed her, stating that their villages look like Sotik. They claimed that they could have also been married to drunkards, bodaboda riders or visionless young men or old men.
