“My Heart Breaks”:Karen Nyamu To Help Flood Victims

Nominated senator Karen Nyamu has offered to offer food and non-food items to Kenyans affected by flood in Mathare and other parts of Nairobi.
Taking it to social media, Karen Nyamu has expressed how she’s heartbroken by the way people have been affected by flood as death rates and homelessness increases.

In a post shared on her Instagram page, she says that together with her team, “Karen Nyamu Foundation”, she will distribute food and non-food items to families affected by floods in Mathare and other parts of Nairobi as part of intervention as the rains continue.
“My heart breaks for the people of Mathare who have been worst affected by the flooding in the city with the death toll rising to 13.

“As a country we need to prioritize investment to overhaul our drainage systems now more than ever to prepare us for flash floods and prevent us from this unnecessary loss of lives and interaption of our daily lives. It’s painful beyond words to lose our people because of a situation we could oversee,” She further pleaded.
