Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party Leader Raila Odinga has challenged President William Ruto to revive the building bridges initiative if he was to continue creating offices out of the constitution as he made reference to the Prime Cabinet Secretary office occupied by Musalia Mudavadi.

Raila has stated that the opposition outfit is still intact following reports that the coalition was disintegrating.

At the same time, he defended his Deputy Party Leader Hassan Joho’s absence after they lost the elections, noting that he was out of the country and once he is back, they will hit the ground running.

Speaking after a church service at the Mombasa ACK cathedral, the former premier rubbished claims that the Chairman of the coalition Uhuru Kenyatta, immediate former President of Kenya, has resigned from the coalition. Odinga says that all members are still on board.

“There is no power struggle in Azimio. Everything is done as per plan.  He is in Azimio to stay. I was with Uhuru yesterday and I talked to him this morning. Uhuru is a member and part and parcel of Azimio leadership,” Raila stated.
Barely a month ago, reports emerged that the Former President is stepping down as chairperson of Azimio with sources saying the coalition council had accepted the retired president’s request.

Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe said Uhuru felt that his stepping down would be the best move as it would remove the two centers of power.

The Orange Democratic Party Leader celebrated his 78th birthday on Saturday and joined faithfuls at the Mombasa ACK Cathedral for the Sunday service.

Raila reiterated that Kenyans and political leaders should stop politicking in churches seemingly hitting out at President William Ruto.

“When we go to the church, we go to pray. We should not politicize the church service. When we want to talk about politics, you get out of the church and then talk politics. We should not be given government programs in the churches,” Raila said.
