Shatta Bway Exits Radio Citizen, Heads To Radio 47

According to sources close to the presenter, it's reported Shatta Bway is heading to Cape Media, parent to TV47 and Radio 47 where he's expected to host reggae shows at the new firm.

Shatta Bway’s real name Stephen Maunda has exited Royal Media’s Radio Citizen heading to Radio 47.

Speaking to his fans in his last radio show, the celebrated Reggae guru notified fans that he would exit Royal Media Services company after serving for over five years.

“It has been five amazing years of WaksTikiTaka. Thank you (fans) for being our family. You’ve stood by us from every corner. You’ve made us number one for those five years and we don’t take it for granted. Nashukuru sana kwa support yenu. Sijatoka kwa ubaya. Nimepata opportunity nyengine ya kugrow in a different field,” he said in his last show on Radio Citizen.

Shatta Bway, revered and celebrated for hosting Radio Citizen’s mid-morning show dubbed Waks Tiki Taka alongside a pulchritudinous radio damsel Qtee, the presenter will be missed by many at the Royal Media Services.

According to sources close to the presenter, it’s reported Shatta Bway is heading to Cape Media, parent to TV47 and Radio 47 where he’s expected to host reggae shows at the new firm.

His exit comes months after political reporters; Francis Gachuri and Chemtai Goin left the media firm to the government as news anchor Waihiga Mwaura was unveiled by BBC Africa as the current affairs journalist.

Joining the team of colleagues in celebrating his exit, Qtee has described Shatta Bway as a kind and creative media personality who she would live to recall in her media career as her co-host.

“It’s been an amazing 1777 days. We’ve had our ups and downs, but we eventually got our footing and we ended up winning as a Team #WaksTikiTaka . We remain Family. I love you endlessly Brathe and I will miss you so much. ❤️❤️❤️❤️” Qtee said.
