Gikuyu gospel musician Ben Githae has disclosed that he learnt his lesson the hard way as far as dating is concerned.
The Tano Tena crooner recently revealed how a rich man snatched his girlfriend from him because he was poor and could not afford to give her a ‘soft life’.
Githae, who made the revelation during a phone interview with Billy Miya on Hii Si Ya Kusahau segment on Radio 47, disclosed that he learnt not to love fully following the incident.

According to the musician, the girlfriend had promised to spend a Christmas Day with him but things went south on the D-Day.
Ben Githae reminisced on how he rocked his favourite T-shirt, ready to impress his lover but was disappointed when he saw her with another man on the material day.
He disclosed that he got to the meeting spot only to see his then-girlfriend in a rich man’s car as they went to make merry.

“I remember I was young and was new to this dating world. I had a girlfriend. She was from a rich family and I was poor. She promised to spend Christmas Day with me. I wore my best T-Shirt and stepped out ready to meet her for our date. However, when I got to the meeting point I saw her in a car with a rich man. That is how I knew I had lost her. I never saw her again.” He revealed.
Githae noted that the betrayal hurt him so much that it opened his eyes, forcing him to love with his brain and not his heart.
The star narrated how his mother and grandmother laughed at him following the occurrence.
He wrapped up by disclosing that he will never ever forget about the experience.
