Diamond Platnumz’s bodyguard Onesmo is reported to have beaten up a journalist to a coma on the weekend in Zanzibar.
According to local media reports from Tanzania, Platnumz had accompanied his lover Zuchu to Kendwa Rocks in Zanzibar to seek for apology after their alleged breakup.
After the apology, one journalist working for ST Bongo Media covering the live event was reported to have been assaulted by Onesmo, Platnumz’s bodyguard.

Sources close to the assaulted journalist disclosed that the journalist and a colleague were in quest to record Platnumz’s interview shortly after apologising to Zuchu but in the process of fighting for space with other journalists, Onesmo pushed him several times before roughing him up to coma.
“People wanted him to listen to what Diamond had to say because he had just apologized to Zuchu and we were taking live footage,” Charles Jakala colleague of the assaulted journalist narrated.
Following the pushes and struggles, Jakala in the recorded clip said he bowed to the pressure leaving the colleague who was behind the live recording to continue with the task.

However, what happened later was a mystery he failed to comprehend because, within a short period, he saw his colleague lying on the floor with the recording equipment set apart.
“My co-host took the mic and followed them before I found him lying down. The rest of the journalists told me that he had been pushed and beaten by Diamond’s bodyguard Onesmo.
He had fallen with the cameras and all the equipment we had been going live with. We called the ambulance and he was taken to the hospital,” Jakala added.
Following the assault, it’s reported Platnumz’s management is yet to apologise over the assault but the journalists who were present condoned the bodyguard for lacking respect for the media.
