Ilienda! Nonini Reveals How Cartels Stole Mzungu’s House In Watamu Before Chasing Her Out Of Kenya

Famed rapper Hubert Nakitare, also known as Nonini recently unveiled startling revelations about the luxurious beach house featured in his iconic music video “Kadhaa,” situated in Watamu.

According to Nonini, the villa’s rightful owner was a British national who fell victim to property seizure orchestrated by  cartels, resulting in her forced expulsion from the country.

In a candid disclosure on his X account, the veteran Genge artist shed light on the distressing ordeal, asserting that the villa’s owner was ruthlessly ousted from Kenya as part of a scheme orchestrated by powerful cartels. Nonini lamented the unjust expropriation of the property, emphasizing the tragic irony that the only memento left for the rightful owner is Nonini’s music video.

“We filmed Kadhaa in a stunning beachfront villa in Watamu, owned by a British national. However, she was forcibly ejected from Kenya, and her property seized by cartels. The sole remnant of her home is this MUSIC video. Ogopa Kenya,” tweeted Nonini, underscoring the injustice perpetrated against the villa’s owner.

The incident sheds light on a disturbing trend on the Kenyan coast, where affluent foreigners frequently fall prey to property seizures orchestrated by ruthless cartels operating in collaboration with influential government figures.

Such cases underscore the pervasive nature of corruption and impunity, posing significant challenges to property rights and foreign investment security in the region.

Nonini’s revelation serves as a stark reminder of the systemic issues plaguing property ownership and security in Kenya, urging authorities to take decisive action against the insidious influence of cartels and safeguard the rights of property owners, both local and foreign.
