Vinnie Baite: Radio Is A Dying Platform, Can’t Advise One To Join
Vinnie Baite, a Kenyan comedian has said radio is a place he cannot advise any person to join or work for as a way of earning a living.
The comedian claims before joining radio, he thought it was a nice place for one to grow and easily fatten his or her pocket but after joining, he felt betrayed and wasted.
Speaking to digital journalists at Wamusyi Show on the weekend, Vinnie Baite disclosed that his silent exit from the radio was sparked by unconducive environments and unpaid hundred-thousandths of money Media Max company owed him.

“Given a chance, siwezi rudi kwa radio. I’ll never do that. Before I got to radio, nilikuwa nawish kwa radio but for now I don’t. Radio is not a good decision for now. Radio is a dying platform I can’t wish one to join. ” Baite said.
Further, the comedian alleged that the only platforms he can advise one to join or dream of joining are digital platforms because they have avenues for growth and more opportunities to earn a living without falling into unnecessary pressures.
“Wasee wa exploit online platform because there are more opportunities” Baited noted.

According to him, while working at Milele FM alongside Francis Luchivya, he got the opportunity to gain some experience, exposure and growth but the arrears the company owed him, made him quit and doesn’t wish to return to radio even if he’s given an opportunity.
“By the way media max wako na deni yangu. Kubwa sana na sidhani watawahi lipa. but niliwa wachia lakini. Ni several hundreds of thousands. Ukiwa na pesa hufuatiliii. Wacha wakae nayo. After all that I have learned there are better avenues where you can make money where you can push your talent, other than radio.” Baite added.
Since he joined the radio, Baite had never done any stand-up comedy since 2022 until last weekend when he was given centre stage by Sammy Kioko alongside Tom Daktari to perform at the Wamusyi Show.
During his performance, fans were excited by his act and he made up his mind to dedicate his energy to live stand-up comedies. Besides that, he continues to release his digital comedy skits and he is looking forward to seeing them reaching far.
