Alistair Johnston who is an ex-teammate to former Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama has revealed a funny experience with Wanyama in his apartment. Recently, Wanyama found himself in an off field awkward moment with one of his former CF Montreal teammate Alistair Johnston. The Canadian Right-Back moved to Scottish Champions Celtic FC in January 2023 becoming a pivotal player for the shortest time he has been with the club.

After Alistair Johnston completed a move to Scotland, Kenya’s midfielder vacated into Alistair’s apartment. In a recent  Official Celtic FC Podcast, Johnston highlighted one hilarious encounter with Victor Wanyama.

In the podcast, Alistair opened up about so many things reflecting on his journey until joining the Scottish giants. He went on to share one scenario of Victor Wanyama taking over his previous apartment, a house he lived in while playing CF Montreal. Alistair was heard narrating how Wanyama was struggling with switching on the WI-FI, “He’s in my apartment that I used to be in,” Alistair giggled. “He’s struggling to figure out how to switch over to my Wi-Fi – it’s a long story, the poor guy.”

The two have built a good relationship off field with Wanyama playing a major role in helping Alistair make a decision of joining Celtic in January 2023, where he has become one of the key and instrumental players.

Wanyama hanged up his boots on national duty in 2021 and is currently playing for Major League Soccer side CF Montreal in USA where he signed a two-year contract in March 2020  before extending it for another year.
