Willy Paul, a former gospel artist has gone to church after setting the church at bay for over five years.The singer on 28th January 2024, went to church for the first time since 2017. Sharing the report on social media, Willy Paul said after attending service on Sunday, he’ll not stop going to church for the whole of 2024.
Willy Paul stopped going to church in 2017 after receiving online bashes from fans who alleged the singer had no firm stand in his music journey.

After the release of the Sitolia song featuring Gloria Muliro, the singer failed to maintain gospel morale and got himself hyping more vernacular songs.Further, scandals haunted him from every corner where at one point in 2015, it was allegedly reported that Willy Paul was found having intimacy while abroad with a teenager. Following several scandals and poor results in the gospel industry, he went to social media and shared a long post telling fans his next move as he quit gospel music.

“Some of you ask me why I left the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. And even call me names because I no longer praise Jesus in my songs… according to them I’m so evil and everything bad. Those are the same people that fought me nikiwa upande wa Yesu 😆
“Reasons as to why I left. Hate from my fellow artists and DJs, lack of airplay ( claiming my content wasn’t Godly back then ) ubaguzi na mapendeleo.. I was the top artist but these evil people couldn’t see that. Or they just chose to ignore the reality!” he shared.
Besides this, he also alleged that the hatred he received left him heartbroken and found the church a place of no help as a human being and an artist.

However, the singer claims 2024 is a different year and he will be going to after yesterday’s encounter in an unidentified church.
“I’ve not been to church since 2017 because the church did something bad to me. But yesterday I attended a church service in Embakasi and I feel so relieved.😌 It’s going to be a wonderful year coz I’ve started mine in church!!” He said.
