Shocking: Woman Caught Throwing Her Children Off Flyover Bridge(video)

A Somali woman living in Uganda was caught red-handed trying to throw her children off the newly constructed Kampala Flyover in the city center.

The shocking events were reported at the former Queen’s Way when the mother only identified as Jamirah was found hanging her one-year-old son by his hands over the fence. On the side were her other two children screaming in fear. The passersby were attracted by the Mother’s screams begging for help.

“Mr. President, please help my children. I need help,” she cried out.

It took combined efforts from both the onlookers and the police to save the life of the hanging baby. The woman was whisked away in a police van to Central Police Station (CPS) amidst the scuffle.

Kama Geoffrey, one of the gentlemen present at the time of the incident narrated how swiftly he grabbed the baby from his mother before she could throw him over.

“I knew she would release him after seeing me but I pretended to be going about my business. When she looked the other way, I turned very fast and grabbed the child’s arm,” he said. Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) spokesperson Patrick Onyango confirmed that the case had been handed over to the police in Kajjansi where she resides for further investigations.

“We did not arrest her because, during the interrogation, she explained to us the reason behind her actions. DPC in her area will handle her case from here,” he said.

UNRA officially opened that section of the flyover to the public a week ago and the users have called for tight security to help monitor such situations and prevent them from happening again.
