Rasmus Hojlund Finally Gets His First Goal In The Premier League.

 

Manchester United summer signing Rasmus Højlund had a Boxing Day night to remember at Old Trafford.

 

The Danish international arrived in the summer from Italian side Atalanta BC where he had made 15 appearances in the Premier League for Man United same as 1,014 total minutes played without scoring or assisting a single goal for United.

Højlund who turned 20 in February this year, made 5 appearances for Manchester United in the Champions League scoring 5 goals.

 

Despite scoring the five goals, Højlund had not scored a single goal in the Premier League and pressure started mounting on the 20-year-old star.

United welcomed Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Boxing Day night where they were trailing 2-0 at the break.

 

They staged a second-half comeback where their Argentinian international Alejandro Garnacho scored a brace and had another one ruled out for offside.

 

In the 81st minute, the score was 2-2 before United won a corner kick where a rebound from the Aston Villa defense found Rasmus Højlund in position and sent it to the far corner making it hard for Emiliano Martinez to save it.

 

Højlund was buzzed with scoring his first premier league goal as he expressed it during the post-match interview, Højlund said;

 

“It’s been a while but I’m happy. I’m the happiest man alive right now. It’s been a while in the Premier League now, so I’m happy to get the first one. Hopefully, I can build on that and keep going.”
