“I’m Officially Dr. Babu”: Babu Owino After Getting His Honorary Doctorate
Thanks to the Almighty God for my Honorary Doctorate Degree in Political Leadership from Weldios University, Babu Owino said
Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has bagged an Honorary Doctorate Degree from the University of Weldios in Benin.
Taking to his social media platform on Sunday, the lawmaker disclosed his academic journey to have birthed from slums into academician radar.
“Thanks to the Almighty God for my Honorary Doctorate Degree in Political Leadership from Weldios University of science and Technology in Benin Republic.I’m officially DR.BABU OWINO.” He said.
The two term member of Parliament beside earning a PhD in Political Leadership; also has several diplomas on his back, degrees and masters.

His first degree was awarded in the field of Actuarial Science, The University of Nairobi where he got a First Class Honors Degree prompting him to pursue masters on the same.
Following the back of the Masters, Paul Ongili his real name; went ahead and pursued a degree in Law at The University of Nairobi, getting a Second Class Honors following a masters in the same field of law.
As a campus student of The University of Nairobi; Babu Owino led the famous students’ strikes in Kenya most known 2007- 2013 as a Student Organization Of Nairobi University leader.
When receiving his doctorate degree on Sunday on Benin, the lawmaker said what affects Benin youth is no difference from Kenya.

According to him; education and politics should be highly valued to bring change in the society. Regardless of one’s humble beginning, giving up shouldn’t be a solution.
On Monday morning, Kenyans at JKIA received the lawmaker will joy for his efforts and unwavering spirit in pushing for greatness in the field of academia.
