Brazilian Influencer Luana Andrade Dies At 29 After Liposuction Went Wrong

Brazilian influencer and reality TV personality Luana Andrade, 29, met a tragic end following complications arising from a liposuction procedure.
“Patient Luana Andrade was admitted, accompanied by her family, on Monday afternoon to the unit for a liposuction procedure, carried out by a private surgeon and anesthetist hired by the family.”

The hospital’s official statement reveals that Andrade suffered a cardiac arrest approximately two and a half hours into the liposuction surgery.
The medical team promptly intervened, successfully resuscitating her. Despite these efforts, Andrade passed away the following morning.
The hospital’s detailed account points to a massive pulmonary embolism as the cause of death, a known and serious complication associated with liposuction.

Pulmonary embolism occurs when a blood clot obstructs the flow of blood to an artery in the lung, often originating in a deep vein in the leg.
Luana Andrade gained widespread recognition through her participation in the sixth season of the Brazilian reality show Power Couple in 2022, alongside her boyfriend João Hadad.
In the wake of Andrade’s passing, João Hadad expressed profound sorrow, stating, “I am shattered, living my worst nightmare. A part of me is gone.”
