Mr. Ibu’s Leg Amputated After Seven Surgeries
Nigerian actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, has been undergoing extensive medical treatment for an undisclosed illness, with his health taking a dramatic turn.
After undergoing seven surgeries, doctors made the difficult decision to amputate one of his legs.
In a statement released by his family on Monday, they confirmed that the actor had successfully undergone seven surgeries, and amputating one of his legs became a necessary step to save his life.

“As of 1 pm today, Daddy has undergone 7 successful surgeries. However, to ensure his survival and improve his chances of recovery, one of his legs had to be amputated. This development has been emotionally challenging for all of us, but we’ve had to accept it as Daddy’s new reality to keep him alive.” The statement read.
The family expressed their gratitude to Nigerians for the overwhelming support they have received.
“We are still seeking support from well-meaning Nigerians, as Daddy is in a very delicate condition at this stage and requires all the help he can get.”
