Childless Wife Kidnaps One Month Old Baby To Deceive Husband

A one month old baby boy who was reported dead missing from his parents’ home in Mukono District has been found in Nawanyago, Kamuli District in Eastern Uganda.
The police from Kasawo with the help of the residents at the neighborhood where the baby was discovered were able to arrest Babirye Justine and her lover Muwaire Robert. They were reported to be part of the kidnap.

According to police reports, the toddler was kidnapped on 25th October, 2023 when his mother, Akugizibwe Sharon, 25, left him with her mother in law to go and buy food in the neighborhood. She came back to the news that her baby was missing.
Since then, police has been actively searching until the residents of Nawanyago came across Babirye having a fight with her lover about the child, then tipped off police who arrested the couple.

At the station, Babirye broke down revealed how she had spent nine years in marriage without bearing a child for her husband. She stole the baby to lie to her husband.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire thanked the residents for being proactive and seeing to it that the baby was found and the culprits apprehended. The baby is currently in their custody where they will do a medical checkup on him before handing him to his father, Alia Suruman Makwali.
