Police Jailed For Taking Bribe To Cover Up Rape Case
Man Arrested For Luring Women On Facebook, Robbing Them At Knife Point
Police in Lamwo District has put behind bars one of their officers for allegedly accepting to take a bribe in a case involving the rape of a fourteen-year-old teenager.
According to police reports, the suspect identified as Byenkwaso Masuudi, an officer at Perabekegemu police post located in Lamwo District was apprehended following the accusations that he pocketed a bribe of Ugshs. 1.8 million from the family of Oneka Ronald who is accused of raping the teenager.
Uganda Police spokesperson Enanga Fred while addressing the press about the matters about the country’s security revealed that the police got information from the relatives of the victims who were complaining about the matter.

When they summoned the case file for further investigations, they discovered that most statements had been pulled out from the file, prompting authorities to arrest the officer.
Oneka is currently under police custody.
