Durham police have launched an investigation following a grisly discovery in an attempt to uncover how a woman’s body ended up inside a garbage bin.
The body was discovered at a home on Rosewood Street near South Alston Avenue, which has been unoccupied for years.
It is reported that a lawn-mowing crew, who came to tidy the home, found the deceased body.

“I didn’t go to sleep until 4 o’clock this morning. You know, I was worried about whether somebody might come through my yard or be outside my yard. I hope and pray that they find out something because, as I’ve said, this is 50 feet away from my house,” a neighbor said.
Police are yet to determine the cause of the woman’s death, but they suspect foul play.
Authorities have further urged residents in the area to be cautious: “Keep your doors locked, ensure your windows are secured, and pay close attention to your surroundings.”
