Liverpool Signs Dominik Szoboszlai From RB Leipzig
Yesterday, Liverpool confirmed the signing of Dominik Szoboszlai for £60 million from RB Leipzig.
He has signed a five-year deal with the Reds that expires in 2028. Liverpool decided on Friday to exercise his £60 million release clause.
Szoboszlai passed a physical on Merseyside on Saturday and Sunday. He will join Alexis MacAllister from Brighton, who cost Liverpool an initial £35 million, as the club’s second summer addition.
Speaking after completing his signing, Szoboszlai revealed he had a conversation with Juren Klopp before making a decision.
“In addition to being one of the best coaches in the world, he is also absolutely overwhelming as a person. He is amazing; it was a kind of ‘chill’ conversation. We talked as if we had known each other for a thousand years. I can’t wait to start working together, he said.
He is set to wear the number 8 shirt that was left vacant by Naby Keita, who left the club on a free transfer this summer. Liverpool are also eyeing a move for Southampton midfielder Romain Lavia.
