Chelsea Reach Agreement With Manchester United Over Mason Mount Transfer

Manchester United and Chelsea have reached an agreement for the transfer of Mason Mount for £60 million.

The agreement contains a potential £5 million in add-ons, which are heavily reliant on performance and success. Mount had one year remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge and had indicated he would not be extending his contract at Chelsea. The England international will sign a new five-year contract with an additional year’s option at Old Trafford.

Three of United’s initial bids were initially turned down by the London-based club, but the most recent offer was left on the table and has now been accepted. Mount is currently on his way to Manchester for a medical check up.

Under their new manager, Mauricio Pochettino, Chelsea is reducing its team. This week, they sold Mateo Kovacic to Manchester City and Kai Havertz to Arsenal. Another midfielder, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, is on the verge of joining AC Milan. Kalidou Koulibaly, Edouard Mendy, and N’Golo Kante have all relocated to Saudi Arabia, with Hakim Ziyech also doing medical at All Nassr.
