Chelsea Rejects Third Bid From Manchester United
Manchester United’s third offer for Mason Mount, worth £55 million, was turned down yesterday by Chelsea.
Chelsea has countered with a demand for £58 million plus £7 million in add-ons and offered to meet with United in person to try to reach an agreement. Mason Mount, who has one year left on his contract at Stamford Bridge, is said to be interested in joining Erik ten Hag’s team.
After submitting their third proposal, it was speculated that United would not raise their first offer of £55 million in favor of other targets. It was also reported that United would be willing to negotiate with Chelsea if they got a favorable reaction.
Mason Mount has already agreed personal terms with the club and is keen on the move, and his camp has reportedly told Chelsea he will not extend his contract with the club. United are keen to look at alternatives if they fail to reach an agreement with Chelsea before the season begins.
