President William Ruto appoints Francis Atwoli

Following Noordin Haji’s assumption of office as the new  Director General of the National Intelligence Service (NIS), President William Ruto has appointed DPP’s selection panel members.

 

The seven comprising of Francis Atwoli,Shadrack Mose, Mary Adhiambo Maungu, Roseline Odede, Richard Onsongo Bush Obwo, Twalib Abdallah Mbarak and Mary Kimonye will be responsible for interviewing candidates and submitting the names of suitable candidates to the President.

 

The President will then nominate one individual  submit his or her name to Parliament to the to Parliament for vetting and approval by legislators.

 

A statement confirming the appointment of the Seven read;

 

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 8 (1) of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions Act, 2013, L, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appoint the seven to be members of the Selection Panel for the Selection of Nominees for appointment as the Director of Public Prosecutions.”
