Faith Kipyegon Receives Ksh. 5M From President Ruto
Faith Kipyegon, President Ruto among other leaders at Statehouse
Kenya’s double world record holder Faith Kipyegon has received a Ksh 5M award from President William Ruto for her exemplary performance.
The athlete jetted back into the country today and was received at JKIA by Sports CS Ababu Namwamba, Governor Johnson Sakaja among other leaders before proceeding to state house for breakfast in the company of other athletes.
In celebrating the achievement, President Ruto gifted Faith Ksh 5M and the emotional athlete couldn’t help but break down.
She stated amid tears that she would use the money to buy his father a car she promised him.
“I am so happy with the reward, I was not expecting it. With the money, I can now buy my father a car. I promised him when I was going to break the World record that I would I buy a car for him, now I can fulfil my promise” teary Kipyegon said
Faith is the World record holder of 1500M and 5000M race, both of which she broke in one week.
