Denver Nuggets Win NBA Championship
The Denver Nuggets won the NBA championship after defeating the Miami Heat 94-89 in Game 5 of the NBA finals.
The Bill Russell trophy, which he received as the NBA Finals MVP, means more to the Serbian international than the two MVP awards he received in total in 2021 and 2022. Jokic finished the game with 28 points and 16 rebounds, while Jamal Murray had only 14 points and Bruce Brown had 14 points off the bench.
For the Miami Heat, Jimmy Butler scored a team-high 21 points, while Bam Adebayo scored 20 points, but they were not enough to force game 6.
Speaking after winning the title, Nikola Jokic was happy with the team’s performance. “We’re not in it for ourselves; we’re in it for the guy next to us, and that’s why this means even more,””It was an amazing effort by the team,” Jokic said. “That is why basketball is a fun sport; it is a live thing. You cannot say this is going to happen; there are so many factors.” I’m just happy we won the game.” He said.
