Liverpool have completed the signing of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old assisted Argentina in winning the 2022 World Cup while scoring 20 goals in 112 games for the Seagulls. He has been one of the best players for Brighton this season, helping them qualify for European competition next season.

Speaking during his unveiling, Mac Allister said it was a dream come true.

“It’s a dream come true, and I can’t wait,” said Mac Allister. “I wanted to be in [from] the first day of pre-season, so it’s good that everything is done. I’m looking forward to meeting my teammates.”

It was a fantastic year for me—the World Cup, what we achieved with Brighton—but now it’s time to think about Liverpool and try to be a better player and a better human being every day.” He said.

Jurgen Klopp’s side has been in the market in search of new midfielders after Naby Keita, James Milner, and Alex Chamberlain both left the club on free transfers. He will wear the number 10, which was left open after Sadio Mane left the club last summer.
