Home » Leicester City Relegated

Despite defeating West Ham 2-1 on the final day of the season, Leicester has been relegated from the Premier League just seven years after winning the title.

Harvey Barnes came up and scored a key first goal in the 34th minute after combining with Kelechi Iheanacho to temporarily move them out of the bottom three. As their fate was out of their control, Wout Faes’ first goal for Leicester after 62, a header from Youri Tielemans’ corner, made it 2-0 on the day.

Then, Pablo Fornals ramped up the pressure on Leicester by halving the deficit in the 79th minute. Although the hosts managed to hold on and snap a five-game losing streak, it was too late for the 2016 winners. The fairytale’s plot is complete.

After full time, it was heartbreak for the King Power faithful, as they will have to play in the championship next season, and they will hope some of their top talents will not leave the club in search of glory.
