Brentford Striker Ivan Toney Diagnosed With Gambling Addiction

Brentford striker Ivan Toney was given a reduced football ban due to his gambling addiction.

For violating Football Association betting rules, including betting against his own team, Toney, 27, received an eight-month suspension.

Toney was identified as having a gambling addiction by a psychiatry expert who testified before the FA’s regulatory commission, and it was determined that he required assistance. As a result, the commission took three months off of an 11-month sentence.

Toney acknowledged frequently lying during his initial interview with FA. He has subsequently stopped gambling on football but not on other sports, according to the statement, and is “determined to address his gambling problem with therapy”.

The striker initially faced a 15-month suspension from the FA because he tried to hide his gambling despite knowing it was against the rules.

However, Toney took to his Twitter page and addressed the rumors and said that he would soon speak with no filter. “I will speak soon with no filter,” tweeted the England striker.
