The government through the Ministry of Information, communication, and Technology is seeking to recruit a new government spokesperson.

 

In a job advert by the Public Service Commission, anyone interested in the position must be a Kenyan who has served for a minimum period of ten (10) years as a media or communication practitioner, three (3) of which should have been in the grade of Deputy Director, CSG 6/Job Group ‘R’ and above or in comparable and relevant position in the wider public service or private sector.

 

 

The candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields:

Public Relations, Journalism, Communications and Media Studies, Education, Linguistics, Political Science, Social Sciences or equivalent qualifications from a university recognised in Kenya with an excellent verbal and written communication skills. should demonstrate an indepth understanding of the National development goals, policies and objectives, including the Government’s transformation agenda.

 

He/she must  meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity.

 

According to PSC, candidate with Masters in the said discipline will have an added advantage.

 

Interested individuals should send their Applications to the Commission on or before 5th June, 2023 latest 5.00 pm (East African Time).

 

The position fell vacant after the then Government Spokesman, Cyrus Oguna’s tenure ended in 2022.
