Man Burns Wife For Refusing To Give Him Her Salary
A man in Wakiso District has assaulted his wife after she failed to unveil to him the money she made at her job.
Safina Nakato, a resident from Nakuwadde Bulenga was attacked by Yoram Ssenyange who battered and poured a basin of boiling water on her body.
Ssenyange was allegedly triggered after he asked the victim for Ush100,000 to clear the house rent which she did not have because she had previously spent the money on his huge hospital bill and was not earning enough at her waitress job.
“He insisted that I must give him the money yet I paid his hospital bills and also took care of the home with the little money I got. I thought he was joking when he promised to harm me because I refused to give him the money,” she said.
After the heated argument, Ssenyange allegedly tried to sexually assault his wife and when she fought him off, she beat him up, poured boiling water on her and locked her in the house. She was saved by neighbors who rushed her to hospital.
Nakato also narrated how her husband refused to work and fend for his home with claims that his culture gave all the responsibilities to a woman.
“When I come back from work, he wants to count, budget and keep the money that have labored for because he says his beliefs grant the man that right,” she stated.
Nakato is currently admitted in a clinic at Nakuwadde and nursing severe burn injuries on her legs while the husband is on the run
