Suspects Linked To Robbery Of Mwinjoyo FM To Spend 7 Days In Custody

The police have been granted orders to detain two Suspects linked to robbery with violence at Mwinjoyo Radio Station based in Nakuru County.
In delivering his judgement, Bildad Ochieng Nakuru Chief Magistrate stated that seven days granted would help the authorities to conclude its investigations into the matter.
“I authorise Mr Eric Wainana, an investigator with the DCI in Nakuru North by this order to detain the suspects for a period of seven days so as to complete their investigations,” ordered Mr Ochieng.
According to an affidavit sworn in by the investigating officer Eric Wainaina, the two Elijah Theuri and David Ngugi were found with machetes and swords of which were recovered.
According to the court records, the suspects invaded the premises holding the station on 12th May armed with guns and pangas.
It further records that they attacked presenters who were ongoing with a programme robbing them of their particulars including cash, mobile phones with a threat of killing them.
The Police in requesting for more days to complete investigations claimed that the suspects were in dire danger from the public if they could be allowed out.
The two are now held at Bahati police station pending conclusion of investigations.
