Several Injured As Vehicle Carrying Wedding Guests Crash
A vehicle ferrying fourteen wedding guests crashed into a barbershop in Arua City, leaving several people injured.
The incident happened near Bishop Angelo Taratino Secondary School located in Ediofe after a Toyota Land cruiser registered to the government failed to negotiate a tight corner, injuring its occupants including an individual who was residing in one of the damaged kiosks.
The accident happened at about 3:00 AM and according to eyewitnesses, the government plates were plucked off and handed over to the police following the incident.
One neighbour who works at the barbershop narrated hearing a loud bang and when he rushed outside, he found the vehicle had overturned. Fast responders rushed to the scene to help rescue the passengers.
The driver was noted to have been driving under the influence of alcohol and police that wanted to tow the vehicle tussled with the residents who demanded assurances about a compensation plan for the damages caused.
