Man Arrested Over Defilement After Video Leaks

Police have arrested a man who was caught red handed and recorded in a viral video on different social media pages after defiling a 14-year-old girl.
The perpetrator has been identified as 52-year-old Kayemba Patrick, a resident of Vumba Village Kawolo Division, Buikwe District.
Nzalambi Patrick, the father of the victim recalls that at around 10:00 AM, he was following his daughter as she was going to school until he lost track of her along the way.
When he tried scouting the area to look for her, he noticed Kayemba who happens to be his neighbor, closing his house door and quickly suspected that he had kidnapped his daughter.
“I called the neighbors for help and when we knocked down his door, I caught him red handed with my daughter in his house,” he said.
The angry residents managed to scoop Kayemba out and rescue the victim who was carrying her school bag. In her police statement, she revealed that it was the second time she was being assaulted by the same man.
By the time of the crime, Kayemba was staying alone at his home after his wife allegedly divorced him for the same reasons.
The LC1 chairperson Ssalongo Musisi Kaggwa condemned the act and called upon individuals to always make it a priority to protect the future of the little ones.
“We should desist from such acts because they spoil the future of these young children. We should instead show them the way to be better,” he said.
Hellen Butoto, Ssezibwa Region police spokesperson confirmed Kayemba’s arrest and detention at Lugazi Police station.
“We are charging him for aggravated defilement and as police we thank the residents who have been so vigilant to see that such a person is arrested,” she said.
