Real Madrid To Host Manchester City In The Champions League Semis

Champions League holders Real Madrid will host Manchester City in the first leg of the semifinals tonight at the Santiago Bernabeu.
In a rematch of last year’s semifinals, where Real Madrid won, City will be looking to exact revenge as they face the defending champions. Manchester City are currently in the quest for a treble, with the Premier League and the FA Cup still on their hands.
Speaking ahead of the game, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said his team is not seeking revenge against Real Madrid.
“We are not here for revenge. It is another opportunity. One day, we will get it. We will get to the final and win it.It didn’t happen last season as we played Real Madrid, and in this competition, they know exactly what they have to do.” He said.
The game comes at a time when former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney said City would destroy Real Madrid.
Toni Kroos, however, said Rooney’s words are normal.
“I think it’s always the same. I remember they said one or two things last year: “Nobody expected us to win it, and we were able to do so.” Apart from the words he said, Rooney is a guy I like a lot,” he said.
