Homabay: 12 year Old Girl Drowns To Death
A twelve year old girl in Homabay County on Sunday evening drowned into a river near the Gendo-Kibwer bridge in Gendo village, Gwasi East Sub Location within Suba South constituency.
The grade three student was with her siblings washing clothes at the river when the incident happened.
It is alleged that the river was swollen to maximum due to the ongoing rains being witnessed in various parts of the country.
Andrew Ombisa, who’s the Area chief of Gwasi East Location stated that the minor had gone to get water from the bridge while they were washing their clothes, and that’s where she accidentally slipped and drowned in the river.
The body was successfully retrieved by Members of the public who were called to the scene before it was turned over to police, who moved it to St Camillus hospital Mortuary.
The area administrator appealed to parents to always watch over their children to avoid such accidents .
