Police and the K-9 dog at the murder scene

Police in Kayunga District are actively investigating the murder of a local leader that took place in the wee hours of the night.

 

George William Samanya was a counsellor to People With Disabilities in Busaana Town Council was at his home in Wantete Village when the unknown assailants attacked and murdered him in cold blood.

 

Speaking to journalists, some neighbors pinned Samanya’s murder to his wife whom they suspect to have had a hand in the crime. She is accused of going about her business even when the news of her husband’s murder had spread throughout the village.

 

“If you love your husband and you find out he was murdered, you can’t continue with your business. This woman went to her neighbor to help her carry the property from their house into hiding immediately after her husband had been killed,” a neighbor revealed.

 

Police from Kayunga arrived at the crime scene and immediately condoned it. They also brought the K-9 dogs to help gather more evidence about the murder.

 

According to the residents, the deceased has been a good member of the community and a decent leader who had no issues with his people. They called upon police to team up with local authorities to see that justice is served.

 

Sarah Nakisuyi, sister to the deceased, revealed that her late brother had received death threats from unknown people who claimed they would kill him for getting involved with their wives.

 

“He had his money and women loved him. We are not sure if they killed him for his money or because of the women he had around him,” she said.

 

Police spokesperson Sezibwa Region, Hellen Butoto condemned the act and revealed that the deceased’s wife identified as Joyce had been arrested to help in the investigations.
