Was Shakib Her Gateman? Zari Breaks Her Silence
South African based Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan has broken her silence on her current lover’s relationship with the late Ivan Ssemwanga.
In an interview with one Ugandan media outlet, bold socialite has defended lover Shakib Lutaaya who people have been alleging was her gateman years back in South Africa.
Zari had been engaged to the late Ivan Ssemwanga in 2011 and the two had three boys; Pinto, Dido and George before Ivan’s death on 25th, May 2017 caused by heart attack.
The 42- year-old lady after her husband passing on, dated Tanzanian artist Diamond Platnumz and had two children before separation.
Following the separation, the mother of five in 2022 started dating Shakib Lutaaya whom she has introduced to her Ugandan parents.
In response on whether it’s a clout chase or a serious relationship leading to marriage despite Shakib having kept his life private, Zari during the interview disclosed to be in a real and traditional legalized relationship.
Concerning her late husband Ivan, she has disclosed that he never put a ring on her but introduced himself to her parents based in Kampala.
Now, she has admitted to be in a real formalized relationship after Shakib put a ring on her in a private religious ceremony- Nikah held in South Africa’s mosque.
“I’ve never been legally married before before… He is the first to give me a wedding ring and tell me, I want you to be my wife. I know he’s the guy” Zari said in an interview.
Further, she has disclosed despite being a mother and Shakib a father of one, she looks forward to having five more children with him.
” My husband has a son, oh! We have a son turning three… I come from an African family. Are you going to have children? Yes! Are you going to surrogate? Yes! ” Zari said despite having age differences with Shakib.
Despite Zari’s introduction of Shakib to her parents, some alleged Zari is dating her former watchman back in South Africa after some pictures resurfaced on social media but the two have come out and set the record by saying the information is misleading.
“Everyone is free to say what they want. You can’t stop them. I know the truth. She also knows the truth” Ssemwanga, 34 says in an interview.
To sum up on Shakib’s sentiments, Zari has chimed in by saying him( Shakib) and her late husband Ivan were just friends while in South Africa.
“We need to address this. I’ve seen [people saying] that Shakib used to be our gateman. He used to work for Ivan.
“To set the record straight, Shakib has never worked for Ivan” Zari broke her silence.
The two are currently in Uganda for a vacation before returning to South Africa where they stay.
