UN Secretary General Antonio Gutteres In Kenya
United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has arrived in Kenya and received by the minister of foreign affairs in the East African nation, Alfred Mutua. Guterres is also expected to hold talks with the head of the country, President William Ruto.
Guterres, is expected to be among the leaders who will attend the meeting of the regional heads of state in Bujumbura, to discuss the security situation in eastern DRC at the end of this week.
The head of the UN, will arrive in Burundi, coming from Kenya, after having a conversation with the president of Kenya, William Ruto, where they will discuss the security situation in Sudan and the DRC.
In addition to Sudan, while in Kenya, he is also expected to discuss with his host about the ongoing measures to control security in the east of DRC.
After that, Guterres will be expected in Burundi, where he will meet with President Evariste Ndayishimiye, who is also the chairman of the East African Community, where they will discuss the security situation in eastern DRC before participating in a meeting with other regional leaders.
His visit comes at this time when the heads of state hope to discuss the steps taken regarding the Angolan peace agreement, as well as the role of the East African Community forces that have been in Congo for several months now.

This meeting of the heads of the countries of the great lakes, will be held while the rebel groups, including the M23, which was supposed to leave the occupied areas in the east of the country, continue to disrupt security by carrying out indiscriminate killings against civilians.
While the head of the United Nations is in Kenya to discuss the issue of fighting in Sudan, another high-level leader in the union, Martin Griffiths, has confirmed his arrival in Sudan.
It is believed that the leader’s presence aims to discuss methods of delivering humanitarian aid to the millions of citizens stranded in Sudan due to ongoing fighting between two military groups.
