Chelsea Close To Appointing Mauricio Pochettino As Their Next Manager
Chelsea are closing in on the appointment of former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino as their head coach next season.
According to trusted Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano,Chelsea are in the final stages of negotiations to hire the Argentina manager.
Chelsea have endured their worst season since the 2015/2016 season and will be without the champions league football from next season.
Chelsea had listed a list of potential managers who would have replaced Graham Potter as the new manager including Luis Enrique,Julian Nagelsmann and Vincent Kompany but Mauricio Pochettino is set to become the headoach.
The former PSG manager has impressed the Chelsea bosses, especially with his past experience with Tottenham Hotspur and his experience at PSG.
He has also insisted on using the Chelsea academy going forward to form the basis of the Chelsea squad.
Pochettino has already assembled his backroom staff, which will accompany him if hired. The Argentine wants to hire Miguel Agostino as his first-team coach and Jesus Perez as his assistant manager and director of fitness.
Along with his son Sebastiano, who will serve as a sports scientist, Toni Jimenez will come on board as the goalkeeping coach.
