Bayern Munich Poor Form Continues As They Suffer Shocking Defeat
League leaders Bayern Munich were beaten 3-1 by Mainz 05 on Saturday as their run of poor form continued.
The hosts shocked Thomas Tuchel’s team with three goals in the final 14 minutes from Ludovic Ajorque, Leandro Barreiro, and Aaron Caricol.
Sadio Mane’s first-half header gave Bayern the advantage when he connected with a cross from Joao Cancelo. In the second half, Mainz leveled the score when goalkeeper Yann Sommer was unable to stop Lee Jae-sung’s shot and gave Ajorque the easy job of heading in from close range to tie the score.
Mainz then went ahead when Barreiro slid a shot past Sommer after receiving a pass from Karim Onisiwo, and Caricol then finished off the game after slotting the ball into the bottom corner off an assist from Andreas Hanche-Olsen.
The defeat was the third under new manager Thomas Tuchel and his first in the Bundesliga. Bayern are on a poor run of form after the Mane and Sane incident,as they were also knocked out of the Champions League by Manchester City at
the Allianz Arena on Wednesday.
