David Ndii: Kenya Kwanza Paying For Kibaki’s Mismanagement Of Politics
Chairman of the President’s Council of Economic Advisors David Ndii now claims late President Mwai Kibaki mismanaged politics.
Speaking on a local TV interview, the renowned economist stated that the Late Kibaki’s First three years as Presidency was marred with bravado, which prevented the government from addressing pressing issues.
“I had a ringside seat and I watched Kibaki mismanage politics from 2003 to 2005. All that we did economically came to note in 2007. It was foreseeable. The lesson I learned is that the first duty of a government is political stability.”said Ndii.
He further argued that the current dwindling economic status was as a result of paying for the ultimate fails by President Kibaki to create Political Stability.
According to him, had there been more rigorous ways of addressing the economic situation, the country wouldn’t be in the same situation it is today.
“What the Kibaki administration needed to do in 2003 was not much. What we had is bravado and people just not being mature about the situation we are facing. I think we are in a situation that is not dissimilar,” he argued.
He however hinted on having the Government in the future properly manage spending, while admitting that some excesses must be eliminated.
This comes after public civil servants decried of not receiving their salaries on time.
