The men’s national rugby 7s have suffered a double tragedy after losing to both France and USA in the ongoing Singapore 7s.
In the first match, Shujaas lost 26-19 against France and one hour later they suffered a narrow defeat in the hand of USA 21-19 in the pool C match on Saturday morning.
Despite putting in a spirited fight right from the word go, they shot themselves on the foot as they ended up allowing opponenets to make a comeback each time which culminated in the stinging loss.
Against France, Kenya had a good start making three tries Courtesy Of Herman Hunmwa, Tonny Omondi and Kevin Wekesa with Omondi converting the two conversions.
However, Kenyan men were overpowered in the second half only managing to grab 5 points while France pocketed 14 points.
In the second match, Shujaas had a lackluster start in the fast half time after losing 14-7 but made a comeback when it was too late in the second half.
Shujaas go down again in a do or die match against Uruguay 7s at 13.07 pm to salvage the disappointing start. Kenya must win and hope France win massively against USA to secure their chance of reaching quarterfinal.
