Mother of two has been apprehended by the police in connection to the death of her son on 3rd April.

 

The woman identified as Jennifer Mwansa is allegedly accused of burning her 8- year- old son on 20th March after eating fried omena reserved for supper.

 

The resident of Chembe District, Luapula Province in Zambia, the local media outlet has reported that Mwansa burnt her son with hot water injuring this stomach, hands, face and some regions at the back.

 

Following her inhumane acts meted on her biological son Kabaso Mwansa, Zambian Today has reported that Chembe Police Officers received information about the assault over the child where they ran to the occasion to save the child.

 

However, upon the rescue, they took the child to Chembe Min Hospital before being referred to Mansa General Hospital where he breath his last on 3rd April following severe injuries developed.

 

Chembe Province Police commander Fwambo Siame told Zambia’s local media outlet yesterday that they have arrested Jennifer Mwansa and now in custody after committing murder.

 

Chembe Police received a report on March 20, 2023 from Nathan Mumba aged 49 of the same village, grandfather to the deceased, that his grandson was assaulted with boiling water by her biological mother and needed a medical report to enable him urgently seek medical attention,” he said.

 

Further, he told the public not to impose harsh punishments to children whenever they’re wrong but use the appropriate and less harmful ways of imparting discipline to juveniles.
