Kakamega Man Jailed For Calling Sister in Law A Dog
Zakaria Ingutia has received a six month jail sentence for verbally abusing his sister-in-law before a multitude at Shibuli market in Kakamega county.
Appearing before Senior Principal Magistrate Dolphina Alego, the man accused of referring to his sister in law as a corrupt individual, a home breaker and a dog, in defense pleaded with the judge to have the matter settled out of court since according to him, it was proper to be handled at a family level.
“No one is perfect and misunderstanding in a family is something that cannot be avoided. I did wrong to my sister-in-law and feel that before I plead guilty to the charge, you give us time to settle it at the family level,” he pleaded
Further he asked the applicant to withdraw the charges against him.
“My dear sister-in-law, nobody is perfect and I still love you despite you bringing me to court but it’s better if we could do away with the court and solve the matter from home,”he stated.
In her judgement, Judge Dolphina Alego termed the offense as a serious one and thus handed the Ingatia a six month jail sentence.
