Family Seeking Justice After Son Flogged 107 Strokes By A Teacher

The Grade Four pupil flogged and wounded by teacher at Riang’ombe Primary School.


Manga Borabu Police Officers are probing into a matter of a grade four pupil who was flogged 107 strokes on his buttocks by a male teacher.

 

The pupil identified as Titus Ondari Omwenga from Nyamira County was Sunday flogged by a teacher- Mr Jackson Marucha after going to report about his lost school shirt.

According the 9 – year- old boy, he had washed his school shirt and put it on the sun to dry but later in the evening found out his shirt missing from where he had put to dry.

 

As the case, the boy went to report to a teacher which turned out to corporal punishment that left him severely injured on his behinds.

 

The boy reports that his teacher accused him of being careless and less attentive to his uniform thus resulting to flogging in a situation where the teacher called upon some pupils to pin him down as flogging takes route.

 

 

Following the corporal punishment meted on the Riang’ombe SDA Primary School pupil, the family of the boy have said their inquiries from the school head Madam Isabella seemed contracting after alleging that she had not heard of a teacher injuring a pupil.

 

However, parents further admit that after the punishment, the boy was never taken to hospital for medication until the boy’s friends disclosed to some outsiders on Wednesday.

 

As the case, the parents of the boy are seeking justice to their grade four son who is undergoing treatment at Nyamira Referral Hospital, Level 5 as Manga Police OCS Mr Kemboi assure the public of investigation into the matter.
