Mukumu Girls Students Hospitalised Over Suspected Food Poisoning
Some 100 students from The Sacred Heart Mukumu Girls’ High School in Kakamega County have been hospitalised with diarrhea symptoms at the Kakamega County General Hospital.
According to the County Communication Director Mr Sumba Juma, food poisoning was largely considered the main cause for the diarrhea disputing earlier thoughts of cholera outbreak.
David Alila, who’s the County Health Chief Officer confirmed that more students are being received at the facility. He further assured the public that the hospital will issue a comprehensive statement after completion of medical tests on the girls.
