Man Dies After Wife Chops Off His Genitalia
Police have arrested a woman who allegedly chopped off her husband’s manhood on 26th March in the evening after a short quarrel.
Joy Biira a resident of Nabisalu Wasswa Zone in Kampala, the police spokesperson has said she used to live with the deceased Benson Balulai as a husband but on 26th when Benson came from drinking spree, the two started quarreling where Biira took a knife a chopped off Benson’s manhood.
“During the domestic fight, the husband grabbed his wife by the neck and started strangling her which prompted her to draw out a knife and chop off his genitals.
“This shows how rage and anger exists among spouses causing them to lose respect for each other. We would like to remind all spouses living in conflict to always seek help on how to resolve their family differences” Uganda’s police spokesperson in Kampala, Fred Enanga said in a statement on 27th March.
Following the incident that led to the death of Benson, the suspect behind the hullabaloo was arrested and put in custody in Makindye Division in Kampala.
According to police reports, domestic violence in Uganda are on the rise as women reporting a high number.
In 2022, police reported that 17, 698 victims of domestic violence were registered compared to 2021 where 17, 533 were registered victims.
