Senegalese Opposition Spokesperson Arrested Over “Fake News”
Senegalese Opposition Leader official spokesperson El Hadji Malick Ndiaye was on Monday 27th, March charged in court over spreading “fake news” amidst high political tensions in the Republic of Senegal.
The spokesperson was allegedly arrested last Wednesday over a message posted on March, 16 about the conditions the Senegalese Opposition Leader was taken to court under heavy security detail.
Ousmane Sonko who’s the Opposition leader faces trial in a defamation case that could see him ineligible to contest during next year’s presidential election.
According to Moussa Sarr who’s a lawyer to Ndiaye, the police had forcefully removed Sonko from his car to the court causing chaos in the capital city of Senegal.
The Government has been accusing Sonko of drumming anger on the streets in bid to Escape Justice.
